From artists to athletes and entrepreneurs, 152 new Third, Fourth and Fifth Form students will join the St. Paul's School community this fall from 27 U.S. states and 14 countries, bringing a range of achievements and interests that will deepen and enrich the SPS experience for everyone.

The most recent event celebrating 50 years of coeducation at St. Paul’s School brought together three alumnae whose work promotes stewardship and protection of the environment. “Her Purpose: Environmental Leadership” featured Diana Propper de Callejon ’80, Abigail Dillen ’90 and Grace Bulltail ’00 in an hourlong conversation that provided as much cause for optimism as food for thought. You can watch the full recording here.
The St. Paul’s School community marked Earth Week with Earth-friendly and locally sourced menu options, virtual events and a daylong campus visit with National Geographic Explorer and climate activist Alizé Carrère.
In Conversation with Michel Martin ’76 and Ted Landsmark ’64
On March 31, Michel Martin ’76, the Emmy-award host of NPR’s weekend “All Things Considered” and a former SPS trustee, engaged professor and civil rights activist Ted Landsmark ’64 in a one-of-a-kind virtual fireside chat about his life experiences. The wide-ranging conversation touched on the circumstances that brought Landsmark, a 2022 recipient of the Alumni Association Award, to St. Paul’s School, his experience with busing and racial integration in New York and Boston — and the Pulitzer Prize-winning photo for which Landsmark is perhaps best known.
Theo Maehr ’76 says his unconventional lifestyle is driven by a connection to the land. When a California wildfire advanced on his home in 2016, that connection was vital to his ability to save his property.
Be sure to join us for the final virtual event in our yearlong series celebrating 50 years of coeducation and the women of SPS. Composer Gusty Thomas ’82, dance instructor Jen Howard ’92 and producer Stephanie Quaye ’07 will join Rector Kathy Giles and Teacher of Fine Arts Becky Saunders Soderberg ’94 for a panel discussion about the importance of art and the role creativity has played in their personal definitions of purpose.
SPS Sparks was established by the Form of 1970 as a way to collaboratively serve, collectively give back and creatively share. SPS is excited to continue this embodiment of the School’s tradition of community service with this year’s Sparks Days of Service, taking place Saturday, May 14; Sunday, May 15; and Saturday, May 21. We invite you to join SPS families and alumni for park clean-up projects in San Francisco, Connecticut, New Orleans, Greater Boston, New York City, Philadelphia and beyond. Just as the common experience of an SPS education is full of potential and growth, so too is the art of storytelling. The virtual conversation was co-hosted by Will Schwalbe ’80 and Ben Loehnen ’96.
